Privacy policy

1. Controller

2. What data we process

• Data you actively send us (by email or when booking an appointment): name, email address, message and the appointment time you selected.
• Data from the enquiry form on the home page: company, contact person, email address, phone number if given, and what you write under “What is it about?”. There is no file field.
• Technical access data that is generated automatically when you visit the website (e.g. IP address, browser type, time of access) through our hosting provider Vercel Inc.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data to answer enquiries and arrange appointments (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to operate the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Hosting and storage location

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) and delivered via a global edge network. Any transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU standard contractual clauses). Details in Vercel’s privacy policy.

5. Appointment booking (Google)

We use “Appointments via Google Calendar” (Google Ireland Limited) to schedule conversations. The data you enter is transmitted to Google. Details in Google’s privacy policy.

6. Time calculator

The time calculator runs in your browser. As long as you do not have the result sent to you, your answers do not leave your device. There are no cookies, no tracking pixels and no analytics on that page.

If you have the result sent to you by email, with or without booking a time afterwards, we process:

• your name and email address,
• your answers in the calculator (industry or your own description of it, the task selected, frequency, duration, who does the work, plus any figures you corrected yourself) and the figures calculated from them,
• the optional note, if you wrote one,
• the language of the page, whether you went on to pick a time and whether you ticked the box for later messages.

Purpose: we send you the result. A copy goes to us so that we are prepared when we talk. We use your details for that only.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because you request the result and, if you pick a time, prepare a conversation with us.

Consent for later, given separately: with a separate tick box you can allow us to write to you again later (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The box is not pre-ticked, optional and not a condition for the result or the appointment. If you leave it empty, no advertising follows the result.

Recipients: we use Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) from Amazon Web Services as a processor to send the emails, in the Europe (Frankfurt) region. Processing takes place in the EU. A data processing agreement is in place.

Retention period: nothing is stored on the website. We delete the emails containing your details no later than 30 days after our last contact with you. If this leads to us working together, the statutory retention periods apply. If you ticked the box for later messages, we keep your name and email address until you withdraw your consent.

Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, informally by email to rick@digitalace.eu or by replying to our email. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

7. Fonts

The typeface of this website is stored on our server and loaded from there when you visit. There is no connection to Google Fonts, and your IP address is not transmitted to anyone for this purpose.

8. Disclosure to third parties

Your data is only passed on where this is necessary to fulfil the purpose in question or where a legal obligation exists. Your data is not sold.

9. Retention period

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes stated or as statutory retention periods require. For the time calculator, the period set out in section 6 applies.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority: Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), Luxembourg.
